Westlake Impressions!

As I write the first Newsletter of 2018, Westlake Residents are honored to be among the country’s population enduring the coldest recorded-setting temperatures!  I fear our snowbirds may not have escaped the “Bomb Cyclone’s” impact that ferried across our Nation!

What may help bring warmth to your heart, and hearth, is the impression Westlake Residents are creating outside our community!  Through our External Website Inquiry project, and activities performed by the Chair of our Welcoming Committee, Debbie Smith, beginning with correspondence and then an eventual tour of Westlake, has generated positive opinions of Westlake.  The beauty of our building, activities offered, and low maintenance fee were, “quite surprising” to a recent prospective buyer.  Another enticement to a possible relocation to Westlake was interest in our, “Get into Golf Program!”

If you need more kindling to temper these artic temperatures, our very kind and generous residents recently raised several hundred dollars for the Westlake Animal Group (WAG’s).  On four separate evenings, during November and December at the clubhouse lobby, members Donna Hubbard, Carol Kubicka, Karen Loupassakis, Marilyn Maroulakos, Jean Mitchell, Deb Robertson, and Cecilia Strom, all ably supervised by Wendy Drucker, assisted at the beautifully decorated holiday-themed table, “Make a Change.”  These end-of-year funds were much needed for shelter animals.  A recent letter, from the Jackson Volunteer Shelter Auxiliary, sincerely appreciated WAG’s total donation of $4,000 to assist in medical and home placement services.

Looking forward to the warmer winds of spring and summer, keep an eye out for the Westlake Women’s and Men’s Golf League Schedules,!  Also, many Westlake Club Events, soon to be posted on their individual Websites, should entice residents to shake off winter blues and any lingering cabin fever!

Included in the external Westlake Golf & Country Club Website Blog are some wonderful photos that our own John Hardy captured during the New Year’s Eve 2018 celebration in our Ballroom!  Seems everyone attending didn’t mind the cold weather as they “worked it” on the dance floor!  Great shots John!

Happy & Healthy 2018 from the Westlake Marketing Committee!
