The Westlake Golf & Country Club in Jackson, New Jersey, will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2020. The Board of Directors recognized that this was the right time to reinvest in the Golf Course. The upgrades and redesign – with special focus on our aging bunkers – we hoped for required the attention of an expert who could meet our particular needs, someone who could maximize our investment in order to get the best possible results.

After extensive research, we determined that Drew Rogers, ASGCA, was the perfect choice to lead the renovation. With close to 20 years experience as a partner at the prestigious Arthur Hills firm, he was also accepted as a member of the highly respected American Society of Golf Course Architects in 2001.

Well, he did not disappoint! Drew invested many hours in onsite course review, interviewing our members, discussing maintenance options with our Golf Superintendent, and the Westlake Greens committee members. He developed a renovation project that not only enhanced all of our bunkers, by using the Better Billy Bunker method, installed by Total Turf, a team of ultimate professionals. Mr. Rodgers also took the opportunity to address playability concerns while simultaneously prioritizing the environment, keeping the course’s overall aesthetic, and maintaining the integrity of the course’s original Arthur Hills design.
