Westlake – A Kind and Caring Community!

angelinaAs a kind and caring community, the Westlake Golf & Country Club joined hands with the owner of the Mona Lisa Pizza restaurant, Peter Como to host and sponsor a very special charitable event on September 28, 2015 to support one of its dearest neighbors, Angelina Roberto, a five-year old young lady who suffers from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Not only is Angelina the Jackson Township’s Mayor Michael Reina’s granddaughter, but she is also an amazing and brave little girl who is fighting the fight of her life. On that brilliant fall day, there were lots of reasons to smile as Guests and Westlake Residents participated in the event and worked together to raise funds toward the Angelina Roberto Fund.

A fabulous breakfast and lunch was prepared by Chef Paul Zappoli and served by his Grille staff in the Westlake Grand Ballroom; a brand new Lexus was available for any golfer skilled enough to get a hole-in-one; prizes were awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the Scramble format; and closest to the pin on all of the Par 3s as well as closest to the Crooked line.

Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled day and if you had been there – you surely would have witnessed plenty of Mona Lisa Smiles, love, and positive spirit permeating the atmosphere as everybody involved worked together to help a very courageous little girl win her battle over pediatric cancer.
