Hi, my name is Linda Caristo. When I was working, my daily workout sessions were of great value to me, not only by helping me deal with the stresses and demands of my job within the New York State Judicial System, but also to keep myself fit. When I retired and moved to the Westlake Golf & Country Club, I wanted to continue my daily fitness regimen.
“Westlake on the Move” unofficially began in 2009, when ten of my Westlake friends and I started exercising together every morning. We had no name or title at that point; the only common denominator was that we were all people who wanted to take advantage of Westlake’s fully equipped, beautiful Clubhouse and who motivated each other to stay fit and healthy.
Well, the idea caught on, so I registered the group as an official club. “Westlake on the Move Club” now offers a program with daily exercise, weight training, and cardio, aerobic, and Zumba classes each and every day of the week. We keep everyone fit, have lots of fun doing it, and most important of all, we are keeping ourselves young.
I’m also very proud to say that “Westlake on the Move” currently has a membership of 122 women and one brave man who get together every day during the week in our spacious and bright aerobic room.
The following quote from Sophia Loren really sums it all up:
“There is a fountain of youth; it is your mind, your talent, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source you will truly have defeated age!”
P.S. – This “source” begins right here at the Westlake Golf & Country Club.
